Denmark from the Sky is a photographic portrait of Denmark as it looks today. Travelling at roughly 200 km/h and keeping the window open in all kinds of weather, Nicolas Cosedis has flown across the entire country with his camera, letting his eye be caught by contrasts, patterns and symmetry. He shows us Denmark from top to bottom from Skagen to Møns Klint, looks down on villages, towns and cities, swings by Langeland with its playful wild horses and continues to the hairpin bends of Bornholm, all while capturing fascinating images of nature and culture and everything in between. Seen from above, he shows us a new, yet recognisable Denmark.
The photographs are accompanied by texts by author and journalist Pernille Stensgaard. Drawing on her in-depth knowledge of Denmark, she guides us on this comprehensive trip across the country, describing how people and landscapes influence and shape each other.
Nicolas Cosedis has previously published the book Copenhagen from the Sky – A Bird’s-Eye View of the City with texts by Holger Dahl.
